Brighton Museum Takeover Day
Friday 18 November is Takeover Day, when museums, galleries and arts organisations up and down England will be taken over by children and young people in a national project by Kids in Museums and Arts Council England.
Brighton Museum & Art Gallery & The Booth Museum of Natural History will welcome a group of 30 Year 9 and 10 students from Portslade Aldridge Community Academy, who will do tasks and take on roles normally undertaken by staff; enabling them to find out more about the roles involved in running a museum and to give us their valuable ideas of how we might run it in the future.
The students will get involved in activities from greeting visitors into the sites, being hands on in an Early Years workshop, redesigning object displays, taking over our digital marketing feed, to giving lively pop-up talks on their favourite objects.
