How young people are bringing the Royal Pavilion & Museums to life with Gifs!

Brighton Youth Film Festival and the Royal Pavilion & Museums are running a Gif Competition for 14-25 year olds - Remix the Museum!

Remix the Museum Gif Competition invites participants to make a Gif in one of the Royal Pavilion & Museums, five heritage sites in Brighton and Hove using their collections.
- The Royal Pavilion
- Brighton Museum & Art Gallery
- Preston Manor
- The Booth Museum of Natural History
- Hove Museum & Art Gallery

Selected Gifs will be exhibited in Brighton Museum & Art Gallery during the Brighton Digital Festival from the 14 September to the 15 October 2017.

Deadline for submitting to remixthemuseum@gmail.com is the 29th August.

Contributor Charlie Snow says: “We’re mixing the old with the new. It’s a great way to get to know the collections and think about where they came from. I’ll be thinking about the museums in a new way from now on. Everyone can give it a go –
we’re all using Gif apps on our phones”.

The project is part of a youth program called Remix the Museum, which runs animation/film workshops using the artefacts and the location of a museum. The Museum Collective, a group of young people aged 14-25 who regularly meet in Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, have developed and led the Remix the Museum Gif Competition for the Royal Pavilion & Museums.
